Planning a luxury wedding for less

Planning a luxury wedding for less can definitely happen if you are realistic about the desires of your heart. What I mean by this is $60,000 dollars will go much further for 60 guests versus 500 guests. Grab your favorite glass of wine and a notepad as we are going to share a couple tips & tricks on planning a luxury wedding for less.

Guest List

Our destination couple from Ohio wanted the word luxury to speak for itself. Krista & Scott wanted luxury to spill everywhere their guests looked. They were big fans on providing transportation for their guests. We found a local transportation company for the entire wedding weekend. The transportation was a mixture of limos, shuttle buses, and luxury SUV. The couple also provided transportation from the hotel to the church and back to the hotel for all of their guests. They arranged for car service to pick up their guests arriving at the Orlando International airport. They hired a string company to play classical & contemporary arrangements on their violin, flute + harp upon the guest’s arrival at their church for the ceremony.

Krista and Scott’s love for live bands is on another level. They hired a pianist to play for their guests while they mingled & enjoyed premium alcohol from the open bar during the cocktail hour.

We found a local party rental company to supply beautiful rental items. A few of the items they selected were gold Chiavari chairs,  fancy tablecloths, Belmont charger plates, pipe and drapes and gold flatware. The drapes were used to cover up the plain airwalls inside the ballroom.

The couple’s cake table took on a whole new meaning of beautiful. Their cake designer Olivia, the owner of Fig & Flour Bakery took the design to another level. In addition to the designer wedding cakes, the cake table had fresh flowers, hi-end cake stands, mercury vases and pin spot lighting.

Here’s a snapshot of their cake table.

They hired a DJ/Entertainment company who transformed the ballroom with amber uplighting that lend a romantic feeling. This modern-day Cinderella & prince charming did their first dance on clouds.

This couple was realistic with their budget and guests list. Krist and Scott had an intimate wedding for 40 of their nearest and dearest. Inviting fewer guests will allow you and your guests to experience true luxury. Their cocktail hour and evening reception were inside the beautiful Alfond Inn in Winter Park, FL.

Another luxury wedding we planned was for our glamourous South Florida couple. We knew Joan & Richard love the finer things but they did not want to break the bank. Our goal was to help them with planning a luxury wedding for less as they already booked a perfect venue for their 180 guests. This couple shelled out about $65,000 for their wedding which was a steal.

This couple booked the lovely Lake Mary Events Center in Lake Mary, FL. This venue was perfect in many ways as it allowed us to hire an outside catering company & a bar company.  The venue was perfectly priced leaving thousands of dollars to transform the space with hi-end decorations, fresh flowers and a boatload of details. This wedding was styled and designed to sheer perfection. Some of the design elements included a white tufted bar, King Louis dining chairs, Chiavari chairs, specialty tablecloths and upgrade napkins.

The coupled first danced was on a cloud with their monogram serving as a backdrop. Before the couple was introduced into the reception, they had a short 2-minute video playing. The video was of them briefly talking about their love story & thanking their guests for traveling to Orlando for their wedding.

Their wedding venue had multiple onsite locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. This will save a lot as you will not need to provide transportation. The hotel we contracted for the room block included complimentary roundtrip transportation. This was perfect for the guests staying at the hotel. The trick to this is to book a multi-purpose wedding venue that will allow you to hire an outside catering company.
