Is Day of Coordinator Worth It?

I bet you & your fiance is debating over whether or not hiring a day of coordinator is worth it. It’s going to sound partial coming from me who is a wedding planner, but heck yeah!! Hiring a day of coordinator is worth every single penny and then some. We hear horror stories from couples who were being tight-fisted when it came to hiring a day of coordinator. Some stories went like this, “my future in-laws promised to handle it for me, but they didn’t quite understand my vision” or “our bridal party promised to do it all, but it was an epic fail.” Unfortunately, you cannot hit the replay button for your wedding day.

A wedding day is like pieces of a puzzle floating around in the air. Your day of coordinator is the glue that will keep the pieces of the puzzle together. If puzzles are not your jam & you’re a lover of NFL, then think of it this way, what good would a football game be without a quarterback? An offensive back in football will line up behind the center, calls the signals and directs the play of the team. Now, replace offensive back with the word day of coordinator and replace football with my wedding.

Reasons to hire a  coordinator:

  • Organize and facilitate the wedding rehearsal
  • Create a seamless wedding day itinerary
  • Greeting the vendors upon their arrival. Most vendors will send out a team that did not study their notes and to-do lists.
  • Set up the couple’s personal decor items {favors, menu cards, guest books, programs & etc.}
  • Contact vendors who did not arrive at their scheduled time.
  • Oversee & manage all the vendors setting up
  • Distribute the flowers to the bridal party & pin the boutonnieres.
  • Line up the bridal party to walk down the aisle.
  • Greets the guests upon their arrival
  • Follow the wedding day itinerary to make sure the evening flow seamlessly
  • Pack up your personal decor items at the end of the wedding
  • Wait until the last vendor signs out

Bottom line, hire a coordinator if you want to be a guest at your wedding. You worked hard with planning such an important and lovely event, you deserve to enjoy it!! Your bridal party and family should be able to enjoy the day from getting their hair & make done to waving goodbye to you at your grand exit.
